Algeria, Iran: President Tebboune determined to enhance cooperation to level of political will

The President of the Republic, Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, on Sunday expressed his determination to raise bilateral cooperation between Algeria and Iran to the level of the political will of the two countries.
In a joint press statement with his Iranian counterpart, Mr. Ebrahim Raïssi, at the end of the talks in the headquarters of the Presidency of the Republic, the President of the Republic reiterates his determination to raise cooperation between Algeria and Iran to the level of the political will between the two countries, dubbing "historical" the bilateral relations.
Stressing the convergence of views between the two countries, the President of the Republic welcomed "the Iranian support for the election of Algeria to the UN Security Council as a non-permanent member."
He underlined Algeria's support and defence of just causes and the ongoing efforts for the restoration of international peace and security.
Regarding the situation in Palestine, the President of the Republic commended "the positions of the Iranian leadership that supports the Palestinian people and rejects the Zionist onslaught amid the shameful silence of some countries."
The President of the Republic said he discussed with President Ebrahim Raïssi the situation in the Sahel and the latest developments of Western Sahara issue.
