National Shaheed Day: President of the Republic affirms that valiant martyrs remain “path, example to follow”
The President of the Republic Abdelmadjid Tebboune affirmed Saturday that the valiant Martyrs and Mujahedeen remain "the path and example to follow", underlining that their timeless message "protects the united and indivisible Algeria and instills an unwavering national cohesion in the Algerian people’s spirit.”
“With the celebration of national days immortalizing our glorious Liberation Revolution, we are overwhelmed with the feelings of pride to belong to Algeria. On this National Shaheed Day, we recalled with deference the sacrifices and throes endured by those who devoted themselves to write the nation’s glory in the country’s valleys and mountains,” said the President of the Republic in a message on the occasion of the National Shaheed Day (18 February).
“Our valiant martyrs and mujahedeen, whose heroic deeds elevated them to the highest ranks and who made Algeria’s glory, enabling our flag to flutter high and “Kassaman” to resound loudly, remain the path and example to follow and a source of pride. They are the only ones to inspire us on the path to follow and its benchmarks. Their timeless message protects the united and indivisible Algeria and instills an unwavering national cohesion in the Algerian people’s spirit,” added the President of the Republic.
“The National Shaheed Day is the opportunity for us to meditate on the grandiose historical challenge that the Algerian people took up with faith and patience, when its brave children decided to ignite the spark of November, which swept away the invaders and colonizers and gave birth to the beginnings of victory," he continued.
“We are celebrating this blessed day, at a time when the beginnings of the new Algeria are taking shape throughout this land, the legacy of the Martyrs whose sacrifices inspire us with the will and determination to continue heading towards the supreme objectives and noble national goals, the principles of which were laid down by our Martyrs at the cost of rivers of blood,” said the President of the Republic.
"We stay true to this very path as we collectively build the Algeria of today - honoring the blood shed and remaining loyal to the trust placed in us by the valiant Algerian people," he emphasized, ensuring that "no matter the milestones reached, accomplishments achieved, and gains secured through the overwhelming commitment of Algeria's sons and daughters to a multifaceted and comprehensive national revival, we remain cognizant of the formidable challenges we must still overcome together."
And this, "after having overcome, thanks to tireless efforts and constant attention, the red indicators on the economic level to achieve indicators that place the national economy on the path of efficiency and competitiveness, but also after having achieved, on the social level, unprecedented gains in upholding living standards and preserving the dignity of Algerian women and men," argued the President of the Republic.
