Commemoration of the 71st anniversary of the glorious Liberation Revolution

The Algerian Embassy in Brussels organized a reception to mark the 71st anniversary of the glorious national liberation revolution of November 1, 1954, with this year's slogan “A message for generations.”

The event brought together representatives of the Belgian and Luxembourg authorities, representatives of European institutions and international and regional organizations in Brussels, as well as heads and representatives of diplomatic missions accredited in Brussels, and members of the Algerian community living in Belgium and Luxembourg.

After listening to the Algerian, Belgian, and European anthems, His Excellency Ambassador Mohamed El Amine BENCHERIF delivered a speech in which he highlighted the historical and symbolic significance of this event, which embodies the culmination of the Algerian people's heroic struggle to regain their national sovereignty, freedom, and dignity.

His Excellency praised the level of friendship and cooperation between Algeria and Belgium, in the common interest of both countries, with a view to strengthening and developing these ties in various fields.

The ceremony also featured a fashion show of traditional Algerian costumes, which illustrates the finesse and diversity of one facet of Algeria’s rich cultural heritage.
